Who is Techno Gamerz?
As you may have read in our first article about our company, What Does Techno Gamerz Do, our company (Techno Gamerz) has been around since 2012 and we work in the gaming industry creating video games and software/hardware to go along with them. But one thing that many of you wanted to know more about was who exactly are the people behind the brand? This article is dedicated to all those people that helped us build this company over the past 5 years and will also be featured on our new website (coming soon). Because just like you all, these people are gamers at heart too!
The 'What'
Techno Gamerz is a Technology and Gaming YouTuber who has been making videos since 2016. His channel consists of technology reviews, unboxings, gaming content, and more. He has over 1 million subscribers and his videos have been viewed over 100 million times. He has also been featured on Popular Mechanics, The Verge, PCWorld, and Kotaku. With such a large audience, he has used the platform to create awareness for charities like Watsi, which helps people in developing countries receive medical care they need. It's not just his viewers that are benefiting from the immense popularity of Techno Gamerz; he himself has grown as a person with this following. You know how you're sitting there as an adult and you're like 'What am I doing?' And you've got your thing that you're doing and it feels kind of small, he says, I feel like I'm providing something bigger than myself. And if people watch my videos because they like me or whatever then at least I can say, well maybe it was worth what time I put into this. Even if somebody hates my video but wants to donate money to charity through watching one of my videos, I'd be happy with that. Techno Gamerz continues to use his fame as a vehicle for change by focusing on topics outside of gaming. In early 2017, he created a video about bullying and had teamed up with Be Kind Online - an organization dedicated to ending cyberbullying - for their annual campaign kickoff event in New York City. A few months later, he released a series called Beyond Internet Bullies: What Happens Next?, which focuses on the aftermath of being bullied online.
Techno Gamerz has gone beyond simply using YouTube as a way to make connections with his followers and start conversations about issues that affect them, too. He currently serves as Co-Founder & Director of Development for The Intrepid Experience, an experiential education company focused on combating bias and prejudice while exploring empathy, diversity, inclusion, acceptance and community building among young adults.
The Intrepid Experience offers programs designed to foster relationships across difference in both rural communities and urban centers throughout North America. Programs include human rights tours, service learning trips, residential camps and college/high school study abroad opportunities. They're able to do this by partnering with key organizations like the U.S Department of State Global Youth Exchange Program (YES), American Jewish World Service (AJWS), Make-A-Wish Foundation, Museum Without Borders and Roots & Shoots International Partnerships.
The 'Who'
Techno Gamerz is a content creator and gaming organization that was founded in March of 2020. The face and name of the organization is its owner and CEO, Daequan Loco. Daequan is a former professional Call of Duty player who retired from competitive play in 2019 to pursue his passion for content creation and gaming. He started out as a YouTuber and Twitch streamer, but quickly realized that he wanted to do more than just entertain his viewers; he wanted to give back to the community that had given him so much. And so, Techno Gamerz was born. With the goal of being able to provide opportunities and resources for aspiring gamers, whether they're an amateur looking to make it big or an esports veteran trying to transition into streaming, Techno Gamerz is here to help everyone reach their potential.
Daequan's ultimate goal with Techno Gamerz is not only to make people laugh or cry or cheer when they watch one of our videos, but also simply put a smile on their faces by doing what we love: playing video games!
It all started out with Daequan having an idea for a gaming organization that provided resources and opportunities for everyone. He thought about different ways he could help others like him who weren't in position to quit their day job and try going pro. He wanted to give anyone who was passionate about video games a chance at competing professionally without them having to worry about finances. And so, he started putting together his plans. Once he found good partners in Benjyfishy, Tanzanite_Isabella and DutchGiant2701 (who later joined forces with him), his plan started coming together quicker than he could have imagined. They began building up their brand, starting with YouTube and Twitch channels. They added different types of content such as reviews, opinion pieces, talk shows and much more. Slowly but surely, they gained traction among the online gaming community--a large chunk of which consisted of Daequan's loyal fan base from his time on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram--and became well-known for bringing a fresh take to all things gaming. They currently work full-time for Techno Gamerz and continue to push the boundaries of how gaming can be enjoyed through all sorts of multimedia platforms.
Their first year has been nothing short of exciting, with huge accomplishments that would have seemed impossible in just a few months. Here are some highlights: In June, they partnered with H1Z1 Invitational partner company ReKTGlobal to sponsor the inaugural season of ReKTxLeague Season 1. From there, they hosted tournaments like H1Z1 King Battle Royale Championship and Fortnite Battle Royale Summer Bash, both of which were met with resounding success. They also sponsored PUBG Global Invitational, the biggest PUBG tournament of the year.
All these years of hard work finally paid off in December with a huge announcement that shocked the gaming world. Techno Gamerz announced their acquisition of Allied Esports, a Las Vegas based esports and entertainment venue operator with a focus on electronic sports and live event experiences. This acquisition is monumental for Techno Gamerz and will set them up for success in years to come. We're excited to see where this new partnership takes us and to bring you amazing content every step of the way! And that's just the beginning of Techno Gamerz's story. What lies ahead is uncertain, but it is sure to be an adventure worth living.
The 'Why'
Techno Gamerz is a professional e-sports organization with teams competing in Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, and more. They are based in the United States and were founded in 2015. The organization has many successful players and a large social media following. So why are they so popular? Some fans point to their sponsorship from HTC, which supplies them with an expensive gaming chair for each player. Others mention their partnership with Red Bull, one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Whatever it is, people know about Techno Gamerz and have been wanting to learn more about them for some time now.
The name Techno Gamerz may be derived from techno music (a genre typically played at rave parties) or it may just be another way to say techies who play video games professionally (or both). The company was established in 2015 by Nathan Martin, Nate Miller, and Michael Miller. The three co-founders met while attending university together and had experience working with major eSports organizations like EG Clan, EGPC Premier Team, and Team Curse. Their goal was to create a team that would dominate all competitions through the use of strategic gameplay and communication. One way they did this was by recruiting top players from various countries around the world. They also started supporting other companies as sponsorships on their website, including Razor, Nvidia, PS4 Pro, Astro Gaming and others. Today, there are 15 members on two teams - Overwatch Black and Overwatch Blue - with 50% of them being new additions since last year. In total there are four different competitive platforms for this group: PC competitive games such as Dota 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO), Overwatch and League of Legends; console games such as Call of Duty Black Ops 4; mobile game Arena of Valor; and even Fortnite Battle Royale! These multi-platforms allow gamers to enjoy the best graphics and frame rates possible.
Techno Gamerz's latest achievement was winning 1st place in FIFA 19 tournament, where they took home $1 million dollars. It's not surprising when you consider how much dedication they put into building up their skills and executing on stage. Unlike other e-sports organizations, they don't recruit any old talent off the street but instead choose only those who are experienced enough to provide top performance on any given day. They invest heavily in coaching staff, management and facilities for training purposes, allowing them to execute precision strategies without fail when it matters most. Every member is expected to live and breathe the Techno Gamerz lifestyle, playing the same number of hours and eating the same food. If they want to take a break from it all, they're welcome to go outside and explore what their beautiful city has to offer. The game room is stocked with every system imaginable, ready for them to pick up at a moment's notice.
